A sharp, hexagonal emerald crystal with rich green color rests on a matrix of white and black calcite. The sheer size of the emerald alone makes this piece impressive. While very few emeralds escape the cutter's wheel, out of those that do survive, only a small fraction of these are matrix specimens. Lustrous, very transparent—a natural jewel.
