Numerous fine, large and lustrous purple adamite crystals sit within a vug providing a perfect contrasting background. Not confined to the gemmy tips, the purple color extends the full length of the crystals, the largest measuring 3.0 cm. In 1982, John Whitmire brought a single offering of these rare manganoan adamites to Tucson. Ever since, collectors have highly coveted these prized specimens, hoping some day to add one to their collection.
